This term, also used like the “Second Internet”, talks about to the second generation of services by Internet, where the emphasis has fluctuated of the given content of static way, to applications where the social collaboration and networks are the protagonists.
The term was used for the first time in the 2004, by “Average O’reilly”, a company that among others things organizes conferences of technological topics. In the first conference dedicated to this Web 2,0, certain keys were transformed that characterize to the current: the use of the Internet like a platform, the use of data bases, and the social architecture among others.
In fact levels use different hierarchic in this new Internet or Web 2,0, that goes from the zero for those applications that can operate in line as much as “off line”, to the level 3, that talks about those applications that could not exist without the Internet and the human interaction.
The term Web 2,0 in addition has generated an intense debate, since many think that it is only a new form of publicity for services and already existing applications from the beginnings of the network, like for example in the forums. It is even spoken of “bubble 2,0”, making reference to the collapse of innumerable emergent projects between 1997 and the 2001, when existing a great number of companies developing similar products without counting on a clear model of businesses.
In any case the phenomenon of the Internet has given an interesting upset, where some years ago few people interacted with the sites and services offered in the Web, and nowadays are million those that forums and sites participate actively in “Web 2,0” like Wikipedia, YouTube and Myspace, recreating this way what is and what means the Internet.
